Dokra also known as Dhokra Art is a unique ancient method of making metal artefacts which is created by help of the wax-casting technique. This particular art is almost 4000-5000 years old and the oldest specimen found is the dancing girl of Mohenjo-Daro.
Most of the Dhokra Art is based on tribal and animal figurines, various rustic vases, door knobs, handles and many others. The craft mainly involves creating sculptures of owls, horses, elephants, peacocks, religious images, measuring bowls and lamp caskets etc.
